Nursing Care
Nursing care is around the clock nurse-led specialist care for residents with complex health conditions and advanced types of dementia.
We help every resident to have the highest quality of life that their long-term health conditions will support within a calm, safe and trusted environment.
What is nursing care?
Nursing care, also known as nursing-led care, provides support for residents with complex health needs, which cannot be provided at home, or in a residential care environment. Many residents who require nursing-led care have multiple long-term health conditions that require a higher, or more concentrated, level of care. Nursing-led care would include palliative care, complex medication regimes and complex wound care.
Nursing-led care requires a fully qualified and highly experienced registered nurses to be available and in the care home 24 hours a day.
The key difference between nursing-led care and residential care, with or without dementia, is the requirement for a nurse to be on-site to manage more severe, complex, and often multiple, long-term health conditions. Other long-term health conditions, such as osteoarthritis, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, can be managed by Castlemeadow Care’s highly qualified non-nursing care teams, with support from community nursing.
In every Castlemeadow Care nursing care environment, we support every resident to have as happy and social a life as their health allows. From personal care – helping a resident to eat, drink, wash, and dress, to more complex care needs administered by a registered nurse.
