37.5 hours per week - 07:00am to 20:15pm 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our hardworking team at Lincoln House residential/nursing care home in Dereham, our care team really do care about our residents and are dedicated and warm-hearted. If you have a particular interest in nursing, this role will be working closely with the Registered Nurse and be very hands on.

Lincoln House is located in Swanton Morley Dereham and specialises in providing quality care and support to our residents in this 60 bed care home. Our assisted living facility is set in a beautiful location, nestled in landscaped gardens with a peaceful courtyard, with farmland views overlooking the Norfolk countryside.

The Role:

Our Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in the lives of our residents and will plan, implement and supervise the provision of quality care, in conjunction with residents and the Registered Nurse. The Care Practitioner is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the health and welfare of the resident group. We expect our Care Practitioner to interact with our residents in a relationship-centred manner, promoting their dignity, independence, well-being, and becoming an integral part of the lives.

Key responsibilities include:

· Assist the Registered Nurse in securing and sustaining the home for the resident.

· To administer medication as prescribed

· Work in conjunction with the team to give through handovers

· Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse you will be supporting with food supplements, administer insulin, apply basic dressings.

· To take and record basic observations

· Contribute towards the assessment of need of each resident in conjunction with the resident and relevant professional/family representatives

· Ensure care plans are updated

· Assist residents with personal care needs

Care Assistants play a crucial role in the lives of our residents and their families and are the most vital members of our team. We expect our Care Assistants to interact with our residents in a relationship-centred manner, promoting their dignity, independence, well-being, and becoming an integral part of the lives

Responsibilities of a Care Assistant:

• Our Care Assistants will assist residents who need help with dressing and undressing. 

• Our Care Assistants assist residents in their daily personal activities to include, but not limited to grooming, washing, bathing (which may include using hoists), hair washing as and when required.  

• Update all charts on residents to be observed and reported.

• Our Care Assistants assist the residents with physical disabilities in using personal aids and equipment as required.  

• Provide wheelchairs when required, to use a hoist when necessary, making sure that the residents safety is priority.

• Our Care Assistants promote mental and physical activities of the residents through talking to them, engaging with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations when time permits.  Encouraging them to attend group activities.

• Greet all visitors in a friendly and efficient manner to promote the Company and the home positively in the local community.

• Maintain good working relationships with all colleagues, residents, and visitors.

Up to 35 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to join our small team assisting the Head Chef in providing, managing, and developing a high-quality catering service to approximately 60 residents, guests and visitors of this wonderful care home.

Key Responsibilities of a Kitchen Assistant:

• Assisting in the preparation, cooking and attractive presentation of all meals. The majority of dishes will be made in house and home baked products should be available daily.

• Prepare simple meals i.e., vegetables and salad items for service under the direction of the chef.  Prepare ancillary items for service such as bread and soft drinks.

• Provide regular interaction with residents to gain feedback regarding the food service

• Prepare and deliver beverage/food trolleys as required by the chef. As food may be served from the trolleys.

• Ensure the smooth transfer of supplies, goods and equipment between storage and work areas.

• Ensure the safe operation of all kitchen equipment in accordance with the appliance instructions and company policies and procedures.
