The Paddocks is located in the centre of Swaffham, a beautiful and tranquil Norfolk town with plenty of shops and cafes as well as a weekly market. Swaffham is situated 12 miles east of Kings Lynn and 31 miles west of Norwich, which makes it a great base to explore Norfolk including the North Norfolk Coast and The Norfolk Broads.

The Paddocks offers the flexibility of day care, respite care for short breaks and permanent care for those who can no longer live at home. We have a separate purpose built unit specialising in the care of residents who have dementia type illnesses in addition to support those residents with nursing or residential needs.

All bedrooms are fully en suite, some with patio doors leading onto the beautifully landscaped garden areas. There is also every opportunity to personalise bedrooms with your own treasured possessions.

There is a varied and exciting social calendar of events and activities throughout the home to stimulate and create a sense of wellbeing and independence.

Life in our home

Our warm and welcoming environment helps residents feel at home.  Our highly trained staff team treat all residents with dignity at all times, giving each individual the respect and privacy they deserve.

All of our bedrooms are en-suite with use of assisted baths and a connection for TV, WiFi, telephone and Nurse call systems. Residents can personalise their rooms as they wish and there are several lounges to for them to use and enjoy.

Decoration

We aim to make life as rich, fun and fulfilling as possible. Residents choose from a varied activities programme, from going out for lunch to one-on-one activities at home.  We offer a nutrionally balanced menu with lots of choice prepared and cooked by our trained kitchen team.

We are very proud of our garden, which boasts a large fountain and a small woodland area, with ample seating to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Residents with dementia can freely enjoy our secure seaside themed garden.

Nightingale Unit provides accommodation for 25 residents requiring residential and nursing care and was built in 2005. It has two lounges and a dining room to provide variety and choice. All bedrooms are en-suite and are situated on two floors. The first floor is accessible via a large lift. There are also two bathrooms, both providing specialised lifting facilities.

Kingfisher Unit is housed in the original Manor house with its grand staircase and chandeliers. It’s home for 30 residents and was refurbished in August 2013 to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. All the bedrooms on the first floor are accessible via a lift. All rooms are en-suite with most of the ground floor bedrooms having patio doors leading directly to the landscaped gardens. There are two lounges and a separate dining room. There are also three bathrooms, all providing specialised lifting facilities.

Our Diversional Therapist organises a wide range of stimulating activities throughout the week, designed in conjunction with individuals' life histories, hobbies and interests. Her role is to stimulate residents both mentally and physically, building on the self-worth of each individual, providing emotional support and dealing with challenging behaviour through an holistic approach.

Sandpiper Unit is a purpose built unit opened in April 2008 for 42 residents with dementia care needs. The home is divided into two wings providing specialist care for their individual holistic needs, working on a person-centered care approach and building on their strengths and abilities. There are ample lounges to choose from to meet different needs. There are four bathrooms, of which two are shower rooms. All bedrooms are en-suite, individually furnished and can be personalised to each residents' taste.
